Our community programmes centre the experiences of people from marginalised and underrepresented communities, including ethnic minorities, people seeking sanctuary, disabled people, LGBTQ+ communities and young people.
Participation is voluntary, respectful and shaped by the voices of those involved. This work is not about being “fixed” or spoken for – it is about creating space for expression, learning and collective action.
Our Community Support Network brings people together through shared experience and facilitated group spaces. It offers opportunities to connect with others, take part in storytelling and creative activity, and contribute to learning and dialogue alongside peers.
Over 90% of participants report positive outcomes from taking part in our programmes, including increased confidence, stronger connections and feeling heard.
What participants experience through our programmes
Increased confidence and connection
Over 90% of participants report positive outcomes, including feeling more confident, connected and heard.
Facilitated group spaces
Structured, welcoming environments – both online and in person – where people come together through shared experience and creative practice.
Storytelling and creative participation
Opportunities to explore and share stories through writing, discussion, performance and art, supported by experienced facilitators.
Collective learning and dialogue
Spaces that encourage reflection, mutual learning and understanding across different experiences and perspectives.
For too long, the experiences of marginalised communities have been filtered, misunderstood or spoken for. At Voicing the Void, we believe change begins when people are supported to reflect on their experiences and share their stories on their own terms.
Through facilitated, creative and restorative programmes, participants build confidence, connect with others, and explore how lived experience can inform understanding, dialogue and social change.
Our work uses storytelling and creative expression – including writing, performance, discussion and art – as tools for connection, reflection and civic engagement.
Influence Change : We support people to explore how personal experience connects to wider social issues. Through storytelling, dialogue and shared learning, participants develop the confidence to contribute to conversations that influence attitudes, understanding and policy.
Develop Confidence : Our structured, facilitated programmes help participants build confidence in expressing themselves, finding language for their experiences, and speaking in group and public settings. This supports clearer communication, self-belief and a stronger sense of agency.
Creative Expression : Creative practice sits at the heart of our work. Using writing, performance, discussion and art, participants explore their stories in ways that feel safe, purposeful and empowering — supporting reflection, connection and collective expression.
We reject the notion of ‘them’. Our strength lies in unity.
Cross-Community Unity : Break down the silos. Our spaces are intentionally built to foster dialogue and mutual support between disabled individuals and LGBTQ+ members, young offenders and new immigrants. We recognise that injustice against one is an injustice against all.
Shared Purpose : We focus on the common ground of dignity, opportunity, and respect. You'll find allies and advocates from every background imaginable, all working towards the same goal: a more equitable Britain.
Collective Power : By joining, you stop being a lone voice struggling in the dark and become a note in a resounding, harmonious choir. Our numbers translate into real influence. When one of us succeeds, we all succeed.
Stop waiting for a seat at a table that wasn’t set for you. It’s time to build our own, together. Your story is our strength.
